Delinquent here means 30 days or more past due, or on nonaccrual. The Fed publishes each quarter about eight weeks after it ends, so the Q2 2026 figure is the latest until the next release.

Noncurrent = 90+ days past due or nonaccrual, divided by loans outstanding, summed across every bank's call report. Our calculation from the FDIC BankFind Suite financials API.

Nonresidential CRE (office, retail, industrial and the rest) fell from 1.37% at Q2 2025 to 1.23%; multifamily rose from 1.04% to 1.09% and construction and land rose from 0.83% to 0.98%. Banks held about $3.08 trillion of these three loan types at Q2 2026.

The two measures aren't the same thing. The Fed's delinquency rate starts at 30 days past due and is seasonally adjusted; the FDIC noncurrent figure starts at 90 days and is raw. Neither one is comparable to the CMBS delinquency rates on the CMBS page, which cover a different pool of loans.
